John Emerson

Emerson is President of Personal Investment Management at Capital Guardian Trust Company and has been a member of the Executive Committee and Chair of the Development Committee at the Disney Music Center.

Prior to joining Capital Guardian, Emerson served as Deputy Assistant to President Clinton from 1993-1997.

Prior to that, he served as Chief Deputy City Attorney for Los Angeles under then City Attorney and now Mayor James Hahn. He was a partner in the law firm of Manatt, Phelps, Rothenberg and Phillips.

Emerson is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, and the Pacific Council on International Policy. He serves on many boards including: The Buckley School, Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles, National Geographic Ventures, the Metropolitan Los Angeles YMCA, and the Central City Association.
