Such a Production
If you have a beef with the Hollywood Industry being in your backyard, move. Or, blame Carl Laemmle, who 90 years ago today culminated an eight-day cross-country whistle-stop tour declaring Universal City the first "to be devoted exclusively to the manufacture of motion pictures." Tonight at the Hollywood Heritage Museum, Tinseltown historian and archivist Marc Wannamaker will show early slides and rare historic shorts from Laemmle’s studio when it was young and eager and surrounded by miles of open space. A fascinating event for Hollywood buffs and beefers alike. 8; $5 members. 2100 N. Highland Ave., Hollywood, (323) 874-2276.
